This is the second roof patch. It came out much better than the first. It's completely ground down and all the pin holes are filled. This pic is from front to rear. You can see the first patch in the distance. Next project is the missing bulkhead.
A Couple years ago I was driving my 1968 Beetle to work and the clutch started slipping. I had owned the car for several years and had not had any problems with it until this day. I bought the car, originally with the intention of restoring it. The clutch giving out gave me an excuse to do so. I limped the car home and started the restoration. Upon taking the car apart I found that the cancer (rust) was much more severe than appeared. The thought of bringing the car back to life only for the rust to return didn't sit well so I decided to make a fiberglass buggy from my faithful friend.
